Washing Rice Since 1991

Washing Rice-1

An old Chinese adage says, “Eat lots for breakfast, eat well for lunch, and eat little for dinner.” Apparently this is the secret to staying slim. I don’t eat small dinners, but I like parts one and two. I love dark chocolate, raw honey, homemade ricotta, crispy tofu, all kinds of zest, watermelon, and jumping jacks.

My favorite land animal is the wolf. My favorite bird of prey is the peregrine falcon. And my favorite marine creature is the manatee.

Camera
I started this blog in January 2014 with photos taken on my Samsung S2 smartphone, edited with PicMonkey. In July 2014 I started shooting with a Canon EOS Rebel T3, a 50mm f/1.8 lens, and a ’90s era tripod (thanks Dad!), and I used the editing software that came with my camera until January 2015. Today I edit with Lightroom.

Recipes
Most of the recipes on here are vegetarian and many are dessert because… well, I am a {mostly} vegetarian dessert fiend. Sometimes I foray into vegan, gluten-free, and paleo because I think those recipes are pretty inventive. There are a number of Asian or Asian-inspired recipes as well, since those are my roots! Also, I live in Boston, which is basically the Arctic, so I bake a lot.

I found your site via a recipe on foodgawker, and now I’m hooked! I’ve saved quite a few of them on that site, and will be trying them all out!

Also, I love the length of your writing per recipe – not too long, but long enough for some laughs. And super nummy as a name is just plain cute :3

Happy cooking and baking. As you know, I love cooking. Recently we experimented making steamed buns with or without fillings. I think we did quite well. We’ll make more when you come home.
